Consortium of Ohio Libraries (COOL) is comprised of independent libraries that are striving to provide high-quality library services while being more efficient and prudent with diminishing public resources.

To that end, the consortium uses Evergreen, an open source ILS, as its choice for an ILS because of its flexibility and affordability. Evergreen provides COOL with a full-featured ILS without exorbitant licensing fees nor vendor fees, making the software highly affordable. Additionally, the consortium has much greater control over the development of the software to ensure it meets users’ needs.
