Patron Types

Member libraries of COOL utilize a variety of Evergreen patron types for their users. The below tables provide details as to how some patron types are defined at member libraries. Please note that these tables are not a comprehensive list.

Patron #

MemberDescription
CardingtonUsed for all users with full borrowing privileges, adult and juvenile.
SunburyDefault account assigned to all users. Guidelines for this card can be found at http://community.lib.oh.us/about/Pol_Borrow.php.

Juvenile-Limited #

MemberDescription
CardingtonUsed for patrons age 17 and younger without signed parent/guardian consent to borrow moving picture items on their card, in any format.

Homebound #

MemberDescription
J.R. ClarkeUsed for patrons that have signed an agreement for extended loan privileges.

Educator #

MemberDescription
CardingtonFor teachers, daycare administrators, and homeschool parents. This account is limited to 50 items. Items circulate for the same period as regular cards, unless educator selects another duration. Movies circulate for the same period as regular cards. Fines apply to all items.
SunburyFor teachers, daycare administrators, and homeschool parents. This account is limited to 100 items, but items circulate for the same period as regular cards.

Student #

MemberDescription
SunburyUsed for children that visit with their school classes. This account is limited to 10 items.

Temporary #

MemberDescription
CardingtonFor new users that do not have adequate documentation for a regular card. They are limited to borrowing two items and the card expires in one month.
SunburyFor new users that do not have adequate documentation for a regular card. They can only borrow five items and the card expires in two months.

Staff #

MemberDescription
CardingtonStaff can borrow up to 50 items and no fines apply. Movies are limited to 8 and can be renewed one time.

Institution #

MemberDescription
CardingtonInstitutional patrons can borrow up to 100 items, set the loan duration and do not pay fines. Movies are included. Institutions may not use ILL.
